Bio
The Vandelles have come to command the surging psych-pop scene on the East Coast. Their sound occupies a territory that covers the pulp-rock stylings of early Jesus and Mary Chain colliding with slinky hula surf rock riffs and harmonic dissonance. Based in Brooklyn NYC, their style, their sound and their attitude fully embody noir rock with it’s fuzzy warmth and cool-kid licks. Orginating 3000 miles away from west coast beaches, they emote California surf-psychedlia sound to the max.

The band features an all-female rhythm section, the girls deal out thunderous riffs while two the gents squeal feed-back solos, all set to tropical-themed rear projections and sentiments. They take the vibes of a Beach Boys record and run them through a static cracked sound wave, adding a gleaming finish to their vintage approach to both songwriting and sonic allocation. Their music is like a hazy dream, full of just the right amount of nostalgia to get the senses up and running.
—
Their first EP grabbed them an MTV spot, as well as countless live shows, including a national tour opening for storied band “The Warlocks”. Performing with The Black Angels and playing as a headliner at the Austin Psyche Fest, The Vandelles are breaking into the national scene. Recent appearances at Iceland Airwaves festival 2010 and in London are proving that The Vandelles have international fans as well.

The band has released a self-titled debut EP on Safranin Sound here in the US (May 2010), and on SVC Records in the UK (Jan. 2010) . The Vandelles are ready to venture forth with their first full-length record, Del Black Aloha (Sept 2010); with a video in support shot by famed videographer Bruce Ashley. Interstingly enough, on top of all of this, The Vandelles are now set to release their new EP “Summer Fling” with three fresh tracks, and a couple hot cover songs, in conjunction with their first official Showcase at Southby Southwest. They’re having fun, tripping out, and wearing their sunglasses at night.
